Wildlife needs conservation!
Encroachment of habitat by humans, deforestation, mining etc., have led to wide scale destruction of animal habitats all around the world.
However, there are many non-profit organizations that work for the protection of the wildlife.
One of the best ways to help the creatures that share our planet is to donate to endangered animal charities.
Well, if not go out there in the wild to save the creature the least we could do is donate a little to these organizations.
So, here is a compiled list of non-profit organizations that help protect wildlife.
World Wildlife Fund
The most famous one out there, WWF has been doing a notable service in protecting wildlife for years now.
Their work spans oceans, forests, wildlife, water, climate, and food. They help some of the world’s most endangered animals, including giant pandas, tigers, elephants, gorillas, sea turtles, polar bears, rhinos, and whales.
The influential organisation combines on-field conservation efforts with an active role in policy and laws formation.
Areas covered: Worldwide. The Amazon, Himalayas, Mediterranean, Borneo and Madagascar are priority regions.
Jane Goodall Foundation
With nothing more than a notebook, binoculars, and her fascination with wildlife, Jane Goodall gave the world a unique window into humankind’s closest living relatives.
In nearly 60 years of work, Jane Goodall has not only proved that chimps need to be saved from extinction, but she has also redefined conservation to include environmental needs as well as the needs of local people.
The foundation focuses on forest health and chimpanzees population.

International Rhino Foundation
The International Rhino Foundation has advocated for rhino conservation for more than 25 years. It accomplishes this primarily through conservation and research.
They work with the local people to create awareness about the protection of rhinos and their habitat.
Today, the total number of rhinos living out there in the wild is only 28000.
Out of the 5 species of rhino, 4 are threatened with extinction.
3 out of these 5 species are critically endangered.
So, it is important that the beauty and the importance of this rhino is made aware to the entire world.

Save The Elephants
Saving elephants is one of the mission goals of Save the Elephants.
As part of this effort, conservation efforts are being conducted to preserve their natural habitats as well as educational efforts to increase their understanding.
Through elephant behavior research, the organization aims to create a sustainable coexistence between people and elephants by working in conjunction with area managers and communities.
The high price of ivory has attracted organized crime, rebel militias, and even terrorist groups, fueling an increase in poaching across the continent.
To combat poaching and ivory trafficking, the organization works with wildlife departments and the local communities.

Sea Turtle Foundation
An Australian non-profit organization, the Sea Turtle Foundation, protects sea turtles through research, education, and environmental action.

International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
IUCN is the world’s largest system of government and non-government organizations dedicated to conservation of nature.
As an observer and consultative body at the United Nations, the IUCN implements several international conventions pertaining to nature conservation and biodiversity.
The organization is best known for the publication of the conservation status of the different species.
IUCN works across various issues like Climate Change, Species, Marine and Polar Protected Areas, Water and Forests.

Gorilla Doctors
The Gorilla Doctors is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of wild mountain and eastern lowland gorillas.
Their life-saving veterinary medicine allows them to do so.
It is the only charity that offers these critically endangered animals direct care in the wild.
Less than 800 gorillas are left in the wild. Hence, the organization’s work is of utmost importance.
The Gorilla Doctors have helped rehabilitate baby gorillas whose mothers had been harmed by humans. Despite the difficulties, the preservation of this species is essential.

Without such organizations that work for the protection of wildlife and its habitat, many species would have gone extinct.
Lastly, it is our duty as humans to co-exist with other creatures.
