Top 6 Ice Cream Flavors around the World

February 28, 2022

Ice Cream!

Every child’s most-loved treat and every adult’s pick for dessert or a cheat day food.

Who doesn’t love this chilled, creamy, fruity, sweet, and lip-smacking dessert?

There are so many flavors of ice creams one can find in the supermarkets.

Plenty of plant milk-based options is also available for lactose-intolerant people.

However, there are a few flavors that are beloved by people all over the globe.

Classic Vanilla

This simple yet bold flavor is the number one winner on this list.

Vanilla ice cream is the go-to ice cream by all. Its versatility is unmatched.

You can pair vanilla ice cream with almost anything- from brownies to french toast to a bowl of fruit salad. But, of course, vanilla ice cream also can be best matched with every other flavor of ice cream out there.

Especially, those made from natural vanilla bean paste or pods are the most sought after.

Chocolate – the biggest competitor to vanilla! Universally liked by kids and adults alike…
Surprisingly, this is the first-ever flavor of this dessert invented.

This ice cream can be made from different types of chocolate, although Belgian is pretty standard.
The flavors are altered by the kind of chocolate used. For example, dark chocolate ice cream is famous for its distinct bitter-sweet taste.

To suit one’s taste, one can experiment with the ingredients available at home, like chocolate chips, chocolate sauce, or plain nuts.

Another classic favorite is the strawberry ice cream.

Beloved by kids for its bright pink hue, it is in the top 3 on our list.

Made with fresh strawberry puree or extract, this creamy sweet treat is a little sour and sweet.
Some brands add fresh strawberry fruits to the dessert. With every bite, you get a small piece of red fruit.

One can add sprinkles or fresh berries to mix up things a bit.

Salted Caramel

In the 1960s, Henri Le Roux, a French chocolatier, opened a candy shop in Brittany that sparked a global craze for salted caramel.

Salted caramel has then been a flavor for many desserts.

The combination of salt and sugar mixed with the frozen dessert is undoubtedly a delight to all.

This silky dessert can be served alongside a pumpkin pie or an apple pie or just eaten as it is!

Nut-based frozen treats are famous for their crunch.

Pistachios, almond crunch, peanut brittle, or pecan nuts have a lot of variations available.

The nuts add texture to the otherwise smooth ice creams.

Drizzle a bit of honey or add some dates, figs, or raisins to make these ice creams even tastier.

Mint-Chocolate Chip

The most beloved of some and the least favorite of some, this cold dessert has people divided on the flavor.

It has a very unique yet refreshing minty taste. The chocolate chips add some texture and zing to it.

Peppermint or spearmint flavoring is most commonly used, but crème de menthe is sometimes used. Whatever your inclination is, you’ll want to go back for seconds of this ice cream!
